Malaysia – is one of the world’s twelve mega-diversity countries. Endau Rompin is regarded as a “hotspot”. It is located at Mersing and Segamat districts of Johore. They are two entry points to Endau Rompin Johor National Park which is through Kg. Peta in Mersing and Kg. Selai in Segamat.

Endau Rompin Peta National Parks
Selai was officially opened to public in 2003.
It is the second gateway to the Endau Rompin Johor, National Park
The park has an area of 48,000 hectare of which 2/3 is located at Selai.
A scientific expedition was held in 2002, and it was jointly organised by Johor National Park Corporation and Univ. Malaya. (UM)

Gunung Ledang National Parks
Introduction
Johor National Park based in Gunung Ledang, located in the district of Muar, Johor. This mountain had been gazetted as a national park on 3rd October 2005, but commenced its operations in July 2003. The size of the park is 8,611 hectares.

Tanjung Piai National Parks
Tanjung Piai is also known as “The Southernmost Tip of Mainland Asia”. Tanjung Piai is named after this fern locally known as ‘Paku Piai’. It is a type of fern that can live in saline conditions. Tanjung Piai is also home to many species of mangrove plants and species of animals. Tanjung Piai State Park (Ref: 1289) wetland designated on 31/01/03; 526 ha; 01°16′N 103°31′E is a State Park consisting of coastal mangroves and intertidal mudflats.

Kukup Island National Parks
Pulau Kukup State Park (Ref: 1287) designated on 31st January 2003; 647 ha; 01°19′N 103°25′E. is a mangrove island located at about 1 km offshore from the south-western region of the state of Johor, Peninsular Malaysia. It is a small mangrove island (approximately 647.2 ha) surrounded by mudflats (about 800 ha).

Islands Of Mersing National Parks
Islands of Mersing National Park is located in Mersing district. It was proposed as a National Park in 2001. It covers island area 3715.3 hectares. It consists of 13 islands. It has 6 main island.

The Convention on Wetlands, signed in Ramsar, Iran, in 1971, is an intergovernmental treaty which provides the framework for national action and international cooperation for the conservation and wise use of wetlands and their resources. There are presently five Ramsar sites in Malaysia, designated and included in the Ramsar List of Wetlands of International Importance..
NERC stands for Nature Education & Research Centre. It is an Excellent Venue For Nature Education Programs. It was officially launched by Menteri Besar Johor YAB Dato’ Haji Abdul Ghani Bin Othman on the 24th of March 2001. The ground breaking took place in July 1998 and the NERC was completed in April 2000. The construction was carried out entirely by the men and women from the local Orang Asli community of Kampung Peta. The government of Denmark contributed RM2.5 million to build and equip the NERC. It is situated 2.7 km away from Visitor Complex on the southern bank of Sungai Endau.
